_{"He slowed his pace as he felt the sand and shingle beneath his feet, eventually stopping just at the water's edge, scrunching the sand between his toes just as he had done as a child, with an impish grin. He closed his eyes and took a few deep breaths, clearing his mind and concentrating on filling that little figurative statue of himself with pure white light, the wave of energy slowly swelling within him as the little figure filled to the brim. As he concentrated the world seemed to slip away, sounds became muted, he could no longer feel the warmth of the sun nor the gentle breeze coming from the sea and he could no longer define any smells. This was the moment he had to attain and maintain if his offering was to be successful. A pure connection between himself and Nalsir, nothing to distract him, nothing to hide from her, earnest and honest in his supplication to her and true in his request for her guidance and protection. Anything less would be a snub to her.
Slowly he opened his eyes, adjusting to the strength of the light, but still maintaining his trance like state. He focused his gaze on a point on the horizon, far out to sea, and crossing his hands, palms upon his chest, began his address to Mother Nalsir."}
